Just as in our skin, there are sebacous glands in our scalp, just below the surface of the skin. Each hair is bathed in sebum before it emerges from the skin to lubricate and protect the hair as it grows. Sebum ensures that the hair is continually strong, moisturized and shiny.
However, the production of sebum can turn to overdrive for several reasons, i.e changes in hormonal balance, stress, smoking, pollution and too frequent washing of hair.
Overproduction of sebum can be very inconvenient and cause itching, gleaming scalp, turn the hair heavy and can even turn into oily dandruff.
Novophane Sebo-Regulating shampoo is meant to:
- Clean the hair thoroughly
- Regulate sebum production
- Delay re-greasing of the hair
This effect comes from the synergistic action of carefully tested and selected ingredients that are known to be effective in regulating sebum production.
The main active ingredients are:
- Zinc gluconate (0.5%) + vitamin B6 (0.1%) + biotin (0.1%) slow down sebum production
- Extract of stinging nettle (0.5%) regulates sebum production but also has an anti-oxidising and anti-inflammatory effect
This product was thoroughly tested under dermatological supervision with volunteers. After 21 days of testing sebum production was decreased by -23% (measured with sebumeter). Additionally 71% of the volunteers stated that the hair is less oily, and 86% stated that the hair is effectively cleaned.
Novophane shampoo is dermatologically tested and does not irritate the skin or the eyes.
How to use
Moisten the hair and apply the shampoo by gently massaging the scalp. Leave the shampoo for a few minutes and then rinse thoroughly with plenty of water. Use conditioner if necessary.
